How I like to relax

We all love and need a bit of downtime in our lives. whether its going for a walk, pampering yourself or getting lost in a book, everyone has their own ways of relaxing and taking time out. I thought today that I would share the ways that I like to relax and the kind of things I like to do in my downtime. Most involve doing as little as I possibly can, I swear I'm not always this lazy!

My absolute favourite thing and my go to when I need to distress is a good pamper evening. I'm talking bath bombs, face masks, bubble bars and preferably chocolate. Not only does pampering myself relax me, it also makes me feel better about myself. Which is perfect when you're not feeling your best and need a pick me up. My skin always get worse when I'm stressing or tired so a bit of TLC is exactly what it needs. My favourite face mask and the one I'm currently using is the Lush Cup O' Coffee mask. My skin always feels fabulous after using this, I wrote a review for the mask here, go check it out! I also like to paint my nails, I don't know why but having my nails done makes me feel like I've got my shit together. Recently I have been using Avons Gel Shine polish in 'Mint to be' (how cute is that name!) It's a lovely spring time shade, not that the weather is very spring like at the moment!

Another way I like to get some downtime is by catching up on my favourite series. Currently I'm re watching Orange is the new black on Netflix in readiness for the new series. I'm trying to get through all 3 series in the next week so I'm all caught up, quite a challenge, even for me! There's something great about being able to switch off and immerse yourself in another world for a couple of hours. Sometimes I get a little to into it and start to talk about the characters like they're real people, its a bit weird seeing the OITNB cast all on social media glamed up, I'm used to seeing them in their prison gear and some look almost unrecognisable in real life. Anyway, I better stop before this post turns into me ranting on about OITNB!

Listening to music is one of my favourite things to do. I love how it can change your mood and theres a song out there for whatever mood you're in. I always have headphones in, especially when I'm doing things I don't particularly enjoy, like washing up! It's also easy to do and doesn't really require any attention. Pair sitting a listening to music while relaxing in a nice bubble bath with a face mask and you've got my idea of relaxation. Just writing this is making me want to hop in the tub!

Let me know ways that you like to relax!

Lush 'Love and Light' Hand Cream

I'm still ploughing through all the Lush gifts I got for Christmas. My bath bomb and bubble bar supply is slowly shrinking though, maybe time for another trip to lush soon! One item I received in a gift box was the Love and Light hand cream. I've never tried a hand cream from lush before so it was great to get something I probably wouldn't have picked up. Although lets be honest, I'm sure I would have tried it out myself at some point!

Dry hands, luckily, isn't something I really have a problem with so I do tend to neglect them sometimes. I really shouldn't, especially not during the winter months, so I've been keeping this at the side of my bed to remind me before I go to sleep and when I wake up to use it. This tactic is working pretty well so far!

The actual product is really good, I wasn't sure what to expect, as I haven't tried any of the lush hand cream before but I wasn't disappointed. From what I've read in other reviews this hand cream is quite light compared to others, I cant comment on that but I can say that it is light and not sticky at all. It absorbs well into the skin and this makes it perfect to apply throughout the day or in the morning. There's nothing worse than having greasy, sticky hands, euckk! Although it is light it is still so great for moisturising hands! I have a patch of dry skin, kind of like eczema on my hand and I've tried lots of different creams in an attempt to clear this up. It's not cleared up completely but it has been massively better since using this cream and it's no longer flaky and dry. For this reason alone I love this product and will definitely be getting it again!

Then there's the scent. I have to admit I didn't love the smell at first. But after using it for a little while I've started to really like it. It smells of oranges, as this product contains orange oil and its actually really calming. It's not to strong of a scent though, if it was super strong I don't think I would like it half as much, but its just right! Definitely worth grabbing this next time you're in Lush!

Lush Snowfairy Shower gel!

In one of the lovely lush gift boxes I received this year for Christmas was the Lush Snowfairy shower gel. It's sparkly and pink...need I say more! It's from the Lush Christmas range and as far as I know it's not available to buy any other time of the year, which makes sense as its a Christmas shower gel!

This one contains Carrageenan Extract, which after a look on the lush site I discovered is used as a moisturiser. Sounds good to me!

The best thing by far about this though, is the smell! It's candy floss scented but the smell kind of reminds me of something else, I just can't quite pin it down! I've been sat for a good few minutes before writing this post trying to figure out just what it is but I can't get it!
Although I find the smell doesn't really linger around on your skin for long after you've been in the shower it is still amazing and fills my bathroom with a sweet scent. If someone put it in a candle, I would buy it.

I will definitely be purchasing this come Christmas time next year! What's your favourite Lush shower gel?

Lush Honey Bee bath bomb!

Seems like a heatwave is coming our way this week, it's about time to! So I've been feeling very summery this weekend. I also like to pay extra attention to my skin in the summer as it tends to dry out and get a bit blugh. My pale skin just isn't cut out for summer and it takes a lot of looking after at the best of times! This weekend I tried a new lush bath bomb, new to me anyway! Called Honey Bee, it's like a little yellow ball of sun, the colour really cheers me up and matches the summery mood I'm in, even if it does look kind of like you peed in the bath!
This bomb kind of smells...natural, I think that's the best way to describe it. And I love it! In the bath it smells more like lemon than honey, which is odd as it doesn't contain any lemon oil! However it does contain sweet orange oil which is probably where the scent comes from. This bomb also contains honey (kind of a given), organinc Aloe Vera gel and rhassoul mud, among other lovely things. I do really like this bath bomb, I find the smell really relaxing and perfect for this time of year. Do be prepared to clean the yellow ring it leaves around the bath though! I think I will be repurchasing this in the future!
By the way, I logged on today to find out my last two posts didnt upload onto my blog, so frustrating! So this was kind of supposed to follow on from a lush haul but I guess that will have to come another time!

Oops I went to lush!

So this week i took a trip to my favorite shop in the world, lush! I love lush, I actually can not stress enough how much I love the place. All the staff are sooo friendly and it smells sooo amazing! So anyway, I didn't go too crazy and ended up buying 6 things. So...

This is the d'fluff strawberry shaving soap, its lovely, as you can imagine it smells a bit like strawberries but I'm not super keen on the smell but it makes my legs feel lovelyyy so I can deal with it!
Ok so pictured here are the Karma bubble bar and the hottie massage bar. Again im not super keen on the smell of the massage bar, its not a bad smell, just smells kinda natural, but oh my goodness it is lovely.
The bubble bar however is maybe the best thing I have ever smelled, it smells like oranges! I wouldn't say I prefer it to the comforter but its definitely on par. It made plenty of bubbles and turned my bath a lovely orange! did i mention that it also smelled AMAZING?

I ran out of toner and decided to try this one from Lush, I'm not exactly sure if it works like a toner by helping to tighten pores etc. but it smells bootiful and it makes my skin feel just really calm and soothed. It smells mostly of lavender as well which adds to the calming effect.

This is my second lip balm from lush, I haven't used it enough yet to judge how good it is but i loved my last one so I'm sure i'll love this one too! So far though I really like it, its not a strong lemony scent but smells lovely.
I also brought a face mask called catastrophe cosmetic, I didn't take a picture as it had already made it to the fridge when I took the photos (its supposed to be kept in there to keep it freshhh!) I have purchased this before and I love it, it smells amazing and leaves your skin looking fresh! Its good to help soothe red skin and it works really well for me.

Well that's the end of my lush haul...for now! I'm sure I'll be back with more!

Thanks for reading!
